Atomic Bond#
Atomic Bond is a high-speed time-synchronized communication system for the Nitrate motor controller that turns it into a powerful system controller. Devices connected via Atomic Bond will appear on the CAN bus as normal, but will have access to a powerful secondary communication channel.
Connect up to 8 devices on the Bond port to enable rapid synchronization of sensors and control of follower motors. Devices on an Atomic Bond can share information at up to 10 kHz, orders of magnitude faster than what is possible on any single CANbus. Atomic Bond enables:
500 Hz swerve odometry
10 kHz motor following
10 kHz sensor fusion
10 kHz swerve module control
The Atomic Bond connector on each Nitrate is a Molex SL connector with power, CAN, and a digital pin. It is capable of acting as a CAN host while the digital pin acts as a PWM or limit switch input.
