Getting Started#
The Atomic Bond Port consists of a 5-pin Molex SL connector. The connector supports an auxiliary CANbus that can be connected to Redux devices, as well as a PWM input for Redux and non-Redux feedback options. The 2-pin CAN connector should be used for all connections to the RoboRIO CANbus and for follower devices on a Bond network.
Note
Non-Redux devices are not compatible with the Atomic Bond CANbus.
Setting up#
Plug a 5-pin Molex SL cable to the Bond port.
Connect CAN-based sensors to the CANH, CANL, and power connections.
Connect PWM-based sensors to the PWM and power connections.
Connect follower Nitrates using their 2-pin CAN ports.
The Bond port has an integrated 120-ohm CAN termination resistor. An external 120-ohm termination resistor must be placed at the far end of the Bond network to guarantee performance. Redux-provided Atomic Bond cables come with the 120-ohm termination resistor pre-installed.
Atomic Bond must be wired as a bus network - star networks are not compatible with Bond!
There must only be one 5-pin Atomic Bond Port on a Bond network. Follower devices should use their 2-pin CAN ports for connection.
